Words that look like code

They are not extra languages.

Syntax is spelling. A comment is a note. A library is a toolbox. Gradle is a build robot. None of these replace Python.

Syntax

The spelling and punctuation rules of a language. A missing quote is a syntax problem. The computer is not angry. It just cannot guess.

Error / exception

A stop message. Read it from the bottom up. The last few lines usually name the file and line.

Comment

A note in the file for humans. The computer skips it. In Python, comments start with #.

Library / module / package

A toolbox someone else already wrote. import json means “bring in the JSON toolbox.” A Termux package is also a toolbox you install with pkg.

Gradle

The build robot. It collects your files and produces the APK. When the build fails, Gradle is saying it could not finish the product because something in the recipe is wrong. You do not write Gradle by hand on day one.
