Stage 0

Get the phone ready.

Nothing to install yet. Look at the device you already own and make a little room. Slow, careful typing is enough. A Bluetooth keyboard helps later. Thumbs are fine at the start.

This page is looking, not installing. The first install is Stage 1. A shorter doing list is Start today.

In plain words

Your phone is already a computer. This stage only asks: is there space, power, and permission to install one extra store? You are not late if you spend a whole evening on just this.

Ready check

Tap what is true on your phone. These boxes stay in this browser.

Readiness0 of 4 steps

The phone is ready enough.

Stage 1 is F-Droid. That is the store Termux should come from.

Settings you will meet

Install unknown apps or unknown sources. Android asks this when you install F-Droid. It means: allow this app store that did not come from Play Store. That is expected here.

Storage permission for Termux, so it can see your Downloads folder if needed.

A little deeper

Why the site cares about Android 9

Termux is a typed-command room. It can live on older phones. The later IDE compiles real apps and asks more of the system. Different tools, different floors of the same building.

Why storage numbers sound scary

3.5 GB is the later builder, not hello.py. Do not stall Stage 1 because the IDE is heavy. Install the small tools first.
